How an SMS gateway works

  1. Your system calls the gateway API with a number and a message.
  2. The gateway validates the request, checks your balance and sender ID.
  3. It routes the message to the recipient’s network.
  4. The network returns a delivery report, which the gateway records against the message.
  5. Replies to two-way numbers are forwarded to your inbox or system.
